HairMatch AI Privacy Policy

HairMatch AI ("we", "us", the "App") lets you preview haircuts, beard styles, hair colour and eyebrow shapes on your own face using AI-generated images. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy.

The short version: we use your photo only to generate the hairstyle previews you ask for. We do not sell your data, we do not use your face to train AI models, and your saved looks live on your own device.

Photos & camera

What we access: the photo you upload or capture with your camera. Camera access is only used to take the picture you choose to try styles on — we never capture video or images in the background.
How it's used: your image is sent securely to our image-generation provider (Google's Gemini API) to render the styles you select, then returned to you.
Retention: your photos are not sent anywhere until you ask for a look. When you do, we keep a copy of the photo the look was made from and of the finished look for up to 30 days, only so that reopening a look you already made is instant and does not have to be generated again. After 30 days these copies are deleted automatically. We do not build a profile or a public gallery of you, and you can ask us to delete them sooner (see "Your choices & rights"). The "saved looks" timeline itself is stored locally in your browser/device, under your control, and can be cleared by you at any time.
Training: your face and generated results are never used to train our or anyone else's AI models.

Other information we handle

Usage & analytics: basic, aggregated usage and advertising analytics (for example Meta Pixel and, where enabled, TikTok Pixel) to understand how people find and use the App and to measure ads. These use cookies or similar identifiers.
Your own API key (optional): if you choose "bring your own key", it is used only to authorise your renders and is stored locally on your device — we do not read it for any other purpose.
Payments: if you buy credits, payment is handled by our payment/app-store processor. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Third parties we rely on

Google (Gemini API) — AI image generation of your previews.
Vercel — hosting and delivery of the App.
Upstash — the database that holds your credit balance and the 30-day copies described above.
Stripe, Apple, Google Play & RevenueCat — payments and purchase records.
Meta / TikTok — advertising and conversion measurement pixels.

Each processes data under its own terms. We share the minimum needed to provide the service and never sell your personal information.

Social posting

If we publish App content to our own social channels (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, TikTok), we post our own marketing material. We do not post to your personal social accounts, and we do not access your social profiles.

Your choices & rights

You can decline or revoke camera access in your device/browser settings at any time.
You can clear your locally saved looks and any stored key from within the App or your browser.
You can ask us to confirm, provide, or delete any personal data we hold about you by emailing the address below.

Children

HairMatch AI is made for adults to use. It is not directed to children, and children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) should not use it themselves. A parent or guardian may choose to try styles on a photo of their own child; when they do, that photo is handled exactly like any other photo (see "Photos & camera"), and the parent or guardian is the one making that choice.

Changes

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
